I need to move the front wheels forward to get 17" wheels with 50 profile tyres to fit, I have read somewhere that I coul fit 19 16v wishbones to the standard Williams set up and that would work, the cup cars have this set up as standard I believe,

Would I also be able to fit the 172 break set up if I do this,

For 172 brakes you also need 172 stub axle. Or maybe cheaper, Megane mkI ph2 1.6 16V stub axles (smaler bearing, fits W driveshafts) and brake calipers (identical to 172).
We measured Williams and 19 16V wishbones, and they seem to be the same on castor :-o

Just a note, 172/Megane stub axles are 7mm wider, so there might be a problem with left driveshaft falling out of the gearbox. So at least 5mm spacer is recommended. But this could cause the ABS sensor missing the ABS ring and not working for the front wheels. It is the case on my car, with 7mm spacers. So actualy 172 hub and outher CV joint is a better way ;-)

R19 wishbones give more positive castor.

Thanks for that, it seems the best option to achieve the movement and keep it reliable is to just change the Williams wishbones for 19 16v ones and keep the standard brakes, then it should all be good with the wheel moved forward a bit. Does this sound correct and will work? Thanks guys...
