Steve, what is your honest opinion on the Focus RS? I remember reading a EVO review where they didn't really like it that much, said the quaife diff interfered too much and was generally a bit of a monster. However, in the latest issue they re-reviewed it and said it was fantastic. What are they really like, coming from an owners point of view?

lol. You'll be even more interested to learn that it may not be only Renault that fiddle with press cars Stromba. They reckon Ford tweaked the boost levels and that's what made the too unruley.

Unless each of the mags had different press cars, that doesn't seem likely as everyone else thought they were great on launch. I think they're just a bunch of pussies who can't handle a bit of torque steer :P

I thought they said they had played with the diff to make it sharper so the car seemed "sharper"?

Zollo

Nope, basically they said...

"The smoother delivery and slightly less aggressive limited-slip action of the owners car makes a world of difference."

"It makes us think the the press cars were tweaked to make them a bit keener and harder."

So in other words, don't chip your car cos it may ruin it!

Honest opinion, i wouldnt lose her for the world!!!!

Yeah theres torque steer but you have the combination of 18" rims, diff an 220bhp through the front wheels!! But its nowhere near as bad as some people have made out, Yes, you have to drive the car it doesnt drive itself at speed but then its not a maybach lol

Richy has drove and he doesnt think it interferes, the front end grip though is amazing give it a corner pick a speed and throw it and it seems to lap it up, my fear kicks in WAY WAY before the cars limits!! My fave trick when i have somebody new in the car is find a mini roundabout get full lock an put my foot down, the front end hardly moves.
