Knob problem

I've bought a knew gear knob to replace my worn one, but the new none won't fit as its different inside (ooh er etc etc)

I have a Williams 1, so I guess I have a knob from a later version? Any other ideas? Could I swap the gear stick?

You need to take the plastic bit off the top of the gearstick. It's part of the old gearknob
