A general question for everyone.. does your auxiliary water pump kick in regularly?

Mine has never come on automatically. I know the circuit is fine because if I jump the sender it runs the pump and fan for around 10 minutes.

So just wondered if it was the sensor to blame, or whether it just never gets hot enough and is meant more for hotter climates.

my fan comes on about the 3/4 mark on a standard switch NOT low temp switch...if that helps at all

The aux water pump will only kick in if the car is not running. It is designed to keep circulating hot water (as the water pump isnt running) around the engine as the radiator cools it until it drops below the set temperature of the thermo switch in the rad.

The fan should kick in as vandalla says 3/4 temp.

Cheers lads.

I should of said I understood that already save you explaining sorry :)

I mean mine never comes on after I turn off the engine.

The fan alone works fine, it's actually before 3/4 on mine with the low temp switch I've got.

Reason I was asking, was considering getting rid of the pump to gain more room for intercooler piping.
