Guys, I have a question.

My sister has my Vauxhall Vectra Diesel 2008. I took it in for its MOT a while back and asked Vauxhall to look at the horrible rattling noise on start up that I could only describe as though the engine mounts are loose. It used rock/rattle and give a loud knock at exactly the same time the car fired up.

Vauxhall told me the dual mass flywheel was ****ed.

So i took that advice. Shopped round. No one would do the job, so ended up sending it into vauxhall to do the job along with the clutch. They royally pulled my pants down on price for this job.

Got the car back, and its STILL making that noise. To say im not best pleased is an understatement.

Any ideas what it could be?

Someone has mentioned it could be the started motor pinion?

If the teeth are worn on this would it give this rock/rattle and loud knock on start up?

Any ideas....
