View Full Version : Renault Clio Elf UK Cup pictures and leaflets.
I thought I would share some of the bits and pieces that have that have not been seen before? I don't think Richard has seen all of it?
They could be interesting to some people, and owners of ex-cup cars.
Not much gets thrown away at the workshop, so I scanned everything - then found some more (still to be scanned)

Check out the price money! It is not like that nowadays!!!!! Drivers used to get around £150 if they just made it onto the grid.

Most of this is all from the 1991 season for some reason. After that it became a bit more of a team affair, so maybe the stashing of paperwork slowed down....

Really interesting Sam, thanks for posting it up. Looking forward to the other instalments, even if there is some reposted material, as I would have missed it all first time around anyway I think.
That's a great piece of info there. Thanks very much for sharing :D
I have a fair amount of scanning to do over Autumn/Winter. We have dug out all the Coupe bits.
This is a small sample!
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t266/samfishy/IMG_0991.jpg
The catalogues contain all the 'coupe' specific parts, numbers and a drawing.
We also have the Megane coupe, Clio V6 Trophy and GT Turbo coupe bits too. Hope to bring it all to you soon.
Not sure if any of these documents have been on the web before? They will be hosted on markfish.co.uk, but will be free to copy and save for yourself.
We are also going to copy all the VHS's onto DVd and put on youtube. These contain all the Clio cup seasons, Renault sport promo videos, GT turbo championships and personal on-board videos. I am looking forward to seeing it all - the racing was great!

This has made my day reading all of this.
Ah, great.
No, they where never registered in the UK, although they could be I guess?
They where just given chassis numbers so the paperwork was there.
I also went through a load of paperwork and letters from Renault UK saying when to collect the cars from Southampton port, and organisation before the start of the championship.
great bit of history there......

Found an old box of programmes and photo's from 80's/90's myself the other day and came across some photo's I'd taken at Brands June 1993. I hopefully will attach them below with a copy of the programme entry. Interestingly, there were two cars entered under name 'Team Bahamas' which look identical in colour (apart from yellow at bottom) to my ex Cup car which is now being run in the trackday trophy series. They were driven by Chas Caffyn and Roger Phillips. Anyone know of them? Be interesting to confirm the history if so.....
Also one of Mark Fish ! Sorry they are a bit out of focus but I was only a wee lad at the time!

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing!
I had a look through our pictures and I can't find anything about those cars, I think my Mark stopped collecting pictures and documents after 1991....
Great pictures mate
1993 there!
