Clio Williams Gearknob - £25

Many times I have seen Williams' looking absolutely immaculate only to be let down by the worn numbers on the gearknob so if your gearknob insert has become worn or faded then I can refurbish it to 'like new' for less than half the cost of a new gearknob!

As you can see from the photos it looks exactly like how it should be when it left the factory:

It is painted in the right colour, and then with 3 layers of laquer which gives it the perfect glossy finish as well as making it long lasting.

All you need to do is leave your gearknob in situ, and carefully lever the insert out from it and send it to me. I'll then return it looking like new!

Please note:
I do not need the whole gearknob
I always recommend sending the insert Recorded Delivery (I can not be held responsible for them going missing on their way to me!)
I will always return it by Recorded Delivery in a padded Jiffy envelope for protection
If your insert is scratched or damaged then it will be returned with the same scratches, just painted.

Can you do these in any colour or just standard?
I was going to buy a brand new one direct from renault but sorting the shell is costing me enough so may aswell have the standard insert done lol.

Yes I do have a valver :) ATM the insert is in a state lol, I painted it red before, it's also loose too as the insert itself is from a williams and the knob is a valver one

You can take the insert out and then get a blue colour match from halfords (close to the instrument colour) then apply the sticker and lacquer over it...jobs a good un.

I think when packs was doing his he wasn't using the sticker...I think he masks the lettering in some way.

I had another look at Packs pics and he maybe using the sticker...it's a bit hard to tell because his pics are a bit crap.

If he is refurbing with the sticker may as well get one of his because his colour match looks pretty good.

I don't refurbish the gear knobs any more but I appreciate that you and other owners might want to do their own so I'm happy to share the details of how I did it with you so that you can share it with the community.

Firstly you'll need the decal - eBay item number 401577096627 (tel:401577096627)
Secondly you'll need some paint - it's Fiat Capri blue and Hycote do a good one
Thirdly you'll need some clear lacquer - it'll need three coats to ensure that the decal does not rub off.

1. Wash dead skin off insert (use toothbrush)
2. one coat of capri blue and allow to dry
3. apply decal
4. apply light coat lacquer and allow to dry x 3

Done.
