What is this? It's off a mk1 phase 1. It's bolted to the offside rear quarter panel near the rear door card and rear wiper wiring

A red and black wire go to a 2 pin black plug near the fuel pump and a thick white eire goes to a 2 pin white plug the other wire is an earth. Is that te power cable?

I think it is the timer unit for the intermittent action of the rear wiper. Do the wires from it lead to the wiper motor (or if you can't follow the route are the wiper motor wires the same colour that you found at that unit?

I traced it back to where the fuel pump goes. I believe on the phase 1's there are three plugs. Well that box goes to two of the plugs. I'm unsure what to do. I dont really want to chop it out unless I 100 percent know what it is. Also the haynes was no help

Nah im using a phase 2 fuel pump.

Also i have wired in the plug thanks again mat, my only concern is that teh fuel pump constanly primes when i switch the ignition on. It doesnt just prime and then turn off. Would this be because there is no fuel in the tank and it stops priming on ignition when the fuel regulator gets up to the correct pressure?
