Finally heard from the head legal procurator ref my car...previous owner has admitted to clocking the car and selling without a valid MOT. He has offered to pay for any of my costs etc....however I now get to meet this guy together with an adjudicater to work out compensation.

I have paperwork that indicates the car was clocked by over 70K, think I will go for complete refund together with £1000+ I have spent out on it already. He reckons this is not unreasonable, if this happens will prob buy another Williams, swiss champ prehaps....if not total refund, then total rebuild, cams, coilovers.....

i would keep the car as its probably worth peanuts to both of you now its revealed as clocked, and if hes agreed top pay car plus £1k.........

what is the *true* milage now?,

i'd use the compensation for some serious mods !
the 1st supercharger would be good, vortech 8)
or

either that or move on to something with real kick in the back power 300+ !

The true mileage is probably around 160-175k and thats not kilometres, it runs very well all things considered but needs new gearbox and at this mileage an engine rebuild is not that far off, do I chuck good money after bad or buy a superb example in excellent condition.....what's the general opinion??

Justin..

hmm i would get the best of it cos i doubt no 1 would by it with such high milage, get the best out of it :D btw hows the body work?

It has had a respray and is not in good condition compared to many I have seen, I can buy a Williams 1 with 50k on the clock totally original for the same money.....what would you guys buy phase 1,2 or 3

Justin..
20-08-2005, 23:24
ah jeez if its that bad id get a willy 2

NickFr

Why phase 2

Justin..

from what iv read willy 2 is a more prefered one, i may be wrong.

Well done Nick 8)

Personally I'd buy another Williams. A Swiss Champ would be great, but any one that's in mint condition will do. I wouldn't go for a sunroof'd one though, but that's just me. There's very little difference between them all though - check out the spec page here.... http://www.williamsclio.co.uk/index.php?get=tech

I think you should keep yours and sell it for parts. Will be a good source of parts for your new one and will earn you more money than selling it whole. That's if you have the time, patience and space...

Good luck! :D

NickFr

Well, sort of they called them phase 1,2 & 3 the specs changed ie ABS and sunroof on hase 3 etc....they just didn't use the number graphics.

Youd be mad not to get a refund and get a Swiss Champion IMO.

A definate future classic. I have one on my shopping list if i can find a nice one.

Thanks, however the prices for Williams here are sky high, prices from £4000-£8000.....would have to buy Swiss Champion thats already in France....tell me what you know of them?

I'd keep the car...theres something to be said for knowing what you've got...faults in all. In any case, you said it drives well so use some of your compensation to make it right. If not, i've a red phase 3 sitting here wanting swapped!
