I had this on my williams powered renault 9 for years now ,before i had the williams engine
its been doing the same on the 1.8 16v . Pretty much every engine component was changed
when the 2 litre engine was fitted . So i am thinking this is a wiring /electrical issue somehow .

It does what you see on the video , if i am driving it will try to cut out but i am at a point where
i have mastered controlling this with clutch and gas pedal action ,still super annoying :(
Its very obvious though when this is happening in gear and underload there is a substantial amount of white smoke coming out the back
which makes me think ,its the burning of fuel (ignition) at fault rather than fuelling or air ?

Am i right thinking this way ?
Any one else having similar problems ?

I would say white smoke is water, not oil or fuel, maybe a headgasket issue, forcing water into the cylinder which is making it lumpy. Is it using water?, ive seen a similar issue with a head gasket. Maybe worth checking.

Don't know about the smoke but this is deffo the lambda sensor. Try to deconnect and you'll see the problem will be solved.
