Is there a better rear brake setup for these cars? cos it failed on handbrake efficiency yet again it never lasts more than 2 years once you get it right it seems!:flogging: near side caliper is sticking I know, but I get so fed up f'ing about with them every other year.

On the bright side thats all thats wrong though I'll need 2 new Exaltos before the winter.
Pristine here I come!

Only thing I can think of is to use 172 calipers on the back, the only difference is the arms for the handbrake cables are bigger & exert more force when applying the handbrake. Perhaps your cables have stretched over the years as well??

A big thumbs up for 172 rear calipers!
Just changed my willy ones to 172's yesterday.
The handbrake is so much lighter and better.

Simple to change over also just get rear caliper's and handbrake cables.
they bolt straight on.

(Handbrake cables new last year and refurbed offside caliper.)

172 calipers....Do they need 172pads and 172 handbrake cables ?

Yup, think so. Looking at doing his soon. Before repaint. Should be a cheapish upgrade.

When I did mine I keep the valver cables works fine.

I try 172 pads in mine but couldn't use them as the pads are thicker but apart from them being thicker there the same lol
