Finally got my car ready for the one time only MOT. Been a very long labour of love, but its all worth it!

Just realised that my cambelt is now 4.5 years old! wont be pushing it hard at all until that baby is replaced.

Quick question for you peeps.

Changing cambelt. what else should be done whilst thats being sorted and what parts should i be ordering?
ie water pump? pas pump? (is a bit noisy). full gasket set?

all advice greatfully appreciated. i need to put an order in very soon.

Its much easier if your going to do the p/s pump, water pump and cam belt to do them in one hit by taking the engine out. Will save you time in the long run, as well as giving much better access to every thing. I had to change the power steering pump a month or so ago, and you just cant do it in the car, the just isnt enough room.

as above, although you can do the pas pump in the car, I have, but its an absolute nightmare ;-)

to do:

-cambelt kit
-water pump
-aux belt ( and check tensioner)
-check cam gasket and cam seals and replace if needed
-may as well oil and filter at same time, make it all super fresh :-)

that should cover it really. if you do take the lump out, have the flywheel off and check for leaks from crank seal. check sump, core plugs, just generally good look over :-)
