well an AX GT crossed my mind with a VTS engine, that would be a good conversion, also the uno turbo!!
would love to have something rear wheel drive but its things like affording insurance on some of them and so forth!!
i could spend a bit of money and time on the clio but i feel that at the minute its nice to drive and reliable with the mods already done so am gonna keep that as the road car!!

Sorry, slight hijack here.

2live,
What sort of mods would you recommend for a fairly reliable yet powerful front-engined mini? Used to play with minis back in the eighties. Just wondering what's new in the game. Stealth mods, where possible. Cheers.

well its been a good 10 years or so that i was playing with the minis in a big way tbh mate.....but the omega or hepolite pistons were always good, couple with a bit of headwok 286 cam 1.5:1 roller rockers etc.

not sure how todays stuff compares tho tbh.

the last build i did, think it was bout £300 for pistons over bore was bout £60...manifold was £70......mega expensive at the time, errrrr cant really think of much else off top of me head.....still have a shitload of reciepts somewhere lol

I like minis for the sheer amount of things you can do to it. Mine was a '78 Clubman with extractor, oversized SUs (can't remember the size) and zero suspension! :D Didn't know that I had completely seized suspension until I sold the car. I simply thought that all minis had exteremely harsh ride. Oh, to be young again with an undamaged backbone :) Will probably get one for my boy when he's of driving age (with better suspension, of course).

How about an old RWD Toyota Starlet with a Honda Type-R engine? Weighing about 780kg, it should be fun to drive. This guy in NZ is doing it with a 200bhp engine.
