Afternoon all,

I picked up a couple of track rod ends on the weekend to find out that the standard clio ones i got do not fit the williams. Has anyone got any experience of this as my local parts place cannot even get a pair for me. Im guessing its going to be a dealership jobbie as i need the parts for friday :(

You can get male and female ones. I had this when I replaced mine, they ordered in the wrong ones.

It will work but is a bit awkward to use, I use one like this:

Its not even a 2 minute job using one of those, other than the fact getting the boot back onto the pipe from the rack can be fiddly sometimes, seems to be more a matter of luck than technique, lol

Would I be needing new gaitors or do they move out of the way easily enough when removing the rods?

Might aswell renew the gaitors as they are only a few quid at some places. I got quoted £51 a track rod by renault with a 10 day wait from france today :)

Ended up getting lemforders for 15 quid each from a little motor factors i forgot about, result 8)

As above, replace the gaitors, old ones split easy (as I found out last time hehe).

Chips right with the tool, but its a load more cash and I have a similar one to yours which worked fine. All I needed was a ratchet handle and x2 extension bars. Was easy:

Did it in a public car park in a short time and renewed some otehr shit whilst down there ;)

Hard job without correct tools.
