When you import a car or bike from the UK or other country to Ireland the Revenue commisioners here in Ireland charge a fee called VRT.Usually on a 10 year old car there aint a market price for them so they charge a base fee of €300.
However on the Williams they are giving it an open market price of €5028 thats £3407.So they want to hit me for 30% import tax!Just aswell I'm not planning on keeping it here.
Interestingly enough they value all the releases at the same market price.

Had the same problem when I enquired about importing a car from switzerland, because they are not in the EU, I would have to have paid import duty and tax of over 20%, suffice to say what a face value was not a bad price was made sky high!! the swiss border is 1.5 hrs from here

I was looking to import a motorbike from the US. Would have cost about £1400 to buy it out there. But with all the tax added and all the other shipping charges, fees, paperwork, etc, it came out at £2400. Why do Governments make everything so damn bloody expensive :(
