Just had mine through, and with me changing it from the turbos engine and management etc, only dropped down a few hundred to around £400.00. That's with the mrs on it and just bigger brakes and coil overs on it. What sort of prices are people paying atm?. And where seems better for Williams insurance. I know people all have different criteria with age, accidents etc, but just wondering how they vary. Thanks. Steve.

Thanks coops. I thought the premium would drop through the floor, me being nearly dead and old, but I was a little unhappy with £400.00. I'm sure I'll get it cheaper, or just not bother, who knows.

its still a group 17 motor mate is the issue, i found when i first insured my turbo it wasnt much more than the standard 1.8 really for what it was and thats only group 14

You can get a Williams 1 on a classic policy with restricted milage and an agreed valuation for around £200 and you dont need a NCB either....

I use Lancaster....

I've a Williams 3 on Peter Best Insurance :)

Ring them as opposed to getting a quote from their site.

Try Graham Sykes for insurance quotes, footman James is cheap on classic insurance but that depends on when they class as a classic car as I use them for my Renault 5 GT Turbo which is 23 years old now.

Trouble with these classic policies is they are limited cover usually, or you need a 2nd main car etc.

My renewal has just come in at £565, no claims, clean licence, 5 years NCB and 39 years old. All mods declared.

Ah sorry guys I hadn't thought about that

My W3 is indeed my second car (much to my neighbours' displeasure) as I alternate between it and the Z4.

I'm with peter best they just said too me they won't insure valvers it's got too be a Williams , it was 190 quid
you have to be over 25 and have another car as a main car
my milage is limited too 5000 a year you don't use any no claims as you don't accrue any
agreed value if you send them pics
I didn't declare any mods so don't kno what there like on them

I think for classics the sort of assume that the cars aren't going to be the same as they came out the showroom, so I've never had a problem with mods. Obviously a Clio fitted with a twin turbo LS7 engine, 22" spinners, and a sound 'system' you could hear on the moon might be pushing things.

what about one fitted with a single turbo F7P engine and roll caged up?!
