I know the original spec was 185/55 but that quite a few are fitted with 195/50's instead......whats the reason for this, are 185/50's a more unusual size??
I kinda like the Michelin Pilot Exalto's on mine as I believe Micheins were the factory spec tyre, but they're 195/50's...
Whats the general story with the different sizes then???

I changed to Yokahama 195's on my car but I felt that they caused the handling to lose a little bit of sharpness. I'll be changing back to 185 Michelin Pilot Exhalto's soon.
I seem to remember that the 195's are a more common size and so are cheaper but don't quote me on that :)
Check out my post entitled 'tyres' from a couple of weeks ago. Same chat and lots of good advice!!

Ahh yes, read that thread and am now fully informed thanks...sorry for the thread duplication!
Looks like I'll stick with the 195 Michelins then ;-)

195 Michelins all the way. Four new PE2s on the car last week and love 'em!
