Iv tried the bulb but stil nothing! Any ideas. Guessing it should illuminate when ignition is on for a few seconds.

Mine doesn't Light up on start up tbh. May be worth checking the wiring under the back seat, may have a corroded terminal somewhere.

Mine doesn't light up on start up, nor have any of my previous Mk1's lol

I know its only a small thing but its really buggin me. The level works fine. Just that light. Checked all wiring and back of clocks. Think it may defeat me. Lol

How do you know it doesn't work mate? The fuel has to get very low to make the light come on, mine has to be sat right on the bottom of the guage

I presumed it would come on when the ignition was switched on like all the other warning lights. Ive even emptyed the tank and still no joy. Guess ill haveto leave it :cry:

No, it doesn't come on when you turn the ignition on. Only when fuel is low.

After hours spent being gentle removing plugs wires clocks etc. i turned to violence and bashed the top of the pump (gently) works fine now.
