just rebuilt the engine after oil pump failure,is it me or does this sound tappety, could it be sticky tappets?

How long was the engine running for. If not long It may just need to get some oil in the lifters. If its been running a while, I'd get it looked at.

its been started about 5 times and i let it run for about 1 min max. ive got oil circulating but ive been told that it needs driving about 3k rpm for a duration.

Mine was like this when I fitted the new engine, start it and hold it around two and half k for a couple of minutes, the oil will circulate and the tappers
should quiet down. Men was just like this, I wouldn't worry too much
