hi all im getting the car ready to go and have a new clutch etc fitted but when i was tinkering around with it earlier i realised that the blower for the heater/cooler isnt working. i checked the 20amp fuse under the glove box and that is ok but dont know what else to check. is this a common fault or has anyone else had this problem???
many thanks

Check the plug where it goes into the blower motor, under the scuttle. Probably needs changing

i had the same problem with mine on the 3 mate! give the plug a wiggle and it will work. in the end i cut the old plug off and got a different plug from mat brown and it worked a treat!!

Can't remember the name of it but you need to replace the bit that the plug goes into on the blower motor, costs £17 from GSF I swapped 1 recently

tappets i reckon mate, especially if it hasnt been used in a while. but then again after a few mins the noise would go away if tappets?

right ive got the plug that comes off the wiring loom and goes into a thing called a resistor that is inside the blower but also comes out which has got a red and a black wire going to it. is that the part you mean ??? bit of a pig to get out to be honest!!!

try wiggling the plug first, or try wedging the plug into the blower unit first

That's the beastie, that's the bit that often fails & costs £17 from GSF  Remove the whole blower unit to get that thing off, it's just 2 10mm bolts on either side of the blower & a bit of brute force to free it off the sticky foam
