Does anyone know where the two black wires go to that come from the sensor in the passenger side mirror as mine is just flashing -30 all the time. :) .

There is a relay that controls it. Just remove and the relay and problem solved.

the sensor is broken

you can just get another sensor and join the two wires and it will be fine again :D

I have tried a new sensor and its still flashing -30,also where is the relay located for this. :)

In the fuse box under the glove compartment there is a row of relay sockets think the bottom row has only 2 relays left hand one is temp right is fogs? if you take it out the display will go off. Try cleaning contacts with wd40, when you replace relay it will light up again flashing but if you kill the ignition it should come back on as normal (resett) steady. Presume the door hinge wiring plug is clean and pushed home properly?

Cheers jock. I have a similar problem in my Willy so thought this worth a try. I can now confirm definitely that the left relay is for the sensor and the right is for the fog lights! However, after removing the relay and even swapping it with the working one from my valver it still just flashes +50C, so I guess my sensor (or could be wiring) is definitely bust?

Clean the loom connector between door and pillar, cleared my -30 fault

Thinking about this the -33 could be caused by highest resistance of dirty joint/connection, therefore +50 would be lowest resistance or a short.

Thanks. That sounds like a theory worth exploring. If I start at the sensor wires themselves I could test resistance there, at source, with my multimeter and then move onto checking the wiring if that looked okay. Does anyone know what the resistance of the sensor should roughly be at normal temps (say 10-20 C)?

From google 2.5 kOhm @ 20*c ? Will be more at lower temps and less at higher ones otherwise it would not be able to tell you the temp!
Must need a regulated voltage supply as well?

Just clean the connector, i put my mirror in an oven and checked resistance after and it was different, it wont be the sensor

Thanks for all the replys its now working fine not sure which of your tips worked because i did them all. :D
