cobra alarm

rite people my willy hasnt been used for about 3-4 years so today i put a new battery on it and started her up. started first time so i left it running for 15 mins or so and everything was great until i turned the engine off. after about 20 seconds the alarm beeped like it always does to set the imobilser then i decided to start her again due to being a little exited but i couldnt disarm it. i replaced the battery in the fob and still no joy but i heard a strange quiet crackling noise coming from the siren thingy, also when i turn the ignition on i now cant hear the petrol pump priming or any other noises i normaly hear.
has anyone had this problem or know what it could be please

get rid mate!!! these alarms have done well being 17 years old! i binned mine after it started playing up too and had a toad Ai606 fitted and never looked back! £215 fitted is a bit of a price to shell out in 1 go but well worth it!
