I'm a expert on this now

The vehicle speed sensor is bound in the speedo cable. Think there about £70 IIRC but I may be wrong.

What problems you got then Gunner?

Didn't fit a new one Jill

I cut the earth to the speed sensor in the speedo cable and gave it its own earth. High idle sorted out and idle is rock solid.

Theres a large area behind the speedo to screw a self tapper in. Plenty of room. in fact theres enough room to hang a mirror

Pics would mean taking dash top and clocks out mate.

The speedo cable has a plug on it with 4 wires going to a plug. IIRC theres 2 orange 1 yellow and a black wire, (this is the earth) Cut the black wire and strip the end, theres a big area when clocks are out to drill a little hole and screw in a self tapper with earth cable secured to it, wether it be clamped behind it or if you put a eye on the earth and screw it up that way.

Just cut the earth from the speedo cable though, leave the earth on loom plug alone.

Hope that helps.
