Hi,

Is there anyway to tell the difference between wheels that were originally fitted to a Williams and the same looking speedlines that have been painted gold at a later date?

One should have markings on saying SPEEDLINE somewhere and there's a code too I seem to remember which end s in 1 2 or 3...I think?

Yeah the refurbished wheels are always the wrong colour, have too much paint and have an incorrectly machined rim.

In my opinion: if the rims are turned and not polished, the paint is Akzo R9312 or Dupont J5505 or Ixell 028176 and the lacquer is not high glossy and not matt, the final result will be very close to the genuine wheel.

Do you mean the genuine ones have a marking saying speedlines or the aftermarket ones? Can anyone clarify where the markings are and exactly what they say? Thanks

The genuine wheels have speedline embossed on them in between the spokes

Renault badge and 108 IIRC

Only the genuine Williams Speedline wheels can take the centre cups, those ones which were made for Clio Cup (and the aftermarket wheels) can't.
