Tyres!

Couldn't remember what size/brand tyre was advised, so I purchased 2 x 195 Firestone's £66.00 each all in. Work well! Thought I would share that with everyone.

Considering 195/50 15 F1s go for c£35 I'd say it's on the steep side.

The sizes are 195 55 15! £66.00 did include fitting/vat and messing about with a spare wheel is I can get my 1 dodgy alloy free to refurb. Firestone are a good make though????? Hassle free tyre change. Probably could have got them cheaper if I had of purchased online but wouldn't have been able to fit em!

Firestone have a good reputation in the Wet....good idea in the UK, but most people seem to prefer Mich or Goodyear. Personally as long as the pressures are ok and they have tread oh and you don't drive like Sebastian Loeb most brand names will do....£66 sounds a bit steep :wink: You seem to have paid a premium for the unusual profile!

the 55 profile explains why they were expensive. Have to get those for the Xsara! :(

Thought you had to have 55, i knew you had a choice between 195 and 185. You do know your tyres Swerie!!! :lol:

Rossco - You either have 185/55s or 195/50s on the Clio. But not 195/55. Or am I getting confused with what you've bought?! The bigger cars (306/Xsara) have 195/55, but some people fit 195/50.

Zollo is correct. Nowt wrong with fitting 195/55s though really. We have to fit the 55s to teh Xsara. Don't really want to go down to 50s as the ride can be a bit crashy anyway and the Xsara's supposed to be the comfortable cruiser of the household! :P

66 quid does sound a tad expensive for Firestones, their generally on the cheaper end of the scale.

Seems about right to me. I pay £100 ish for 185 55 15's usually.

Thats the reason I didn't get Michelins lol. I really impressed with the Eagle F1's, do you think the PE2's are worth the extra or did you put them on for "originality".

Ive never had any other tyres, i get michelins because they seem to last twice as long as any other tyres.

My Pilot sx's have done 25,000 + miles now and still have 4mm of tread on them :shock:

fukkin ell.even mine have lasted 10k up to now.....and still have about 1/2 tread left.....and thats including the track day break in, several drag strip runs, loads of enthusiastic road driving......i must go pretty easy on the tyres lol.....summat i thought id never hear meself say

Your not getting old are you Jon? Driving slowing down? Check back seat for a picnic rug and glove box for driving gloves. If these items are missing you may be ok. :P
