Well not exactly my heart but have a lookie..
After my spirited drive this morning decided to check out that oil leak thats been pestering me and sure enough it's back.
Fook it and this time the gearbox came out.

Here is the mess behind the flywheel

And here is the hole I found. Is that normal? Seems as if it's on the outer casing of the block but wont be sure until I remove the sump in the morning. It's to the right of the crank seal.

couldnt wait till morning so the sump came off.
Well it's a hole in a hole which doesnt lead anywhere! how about that for frenchie engineering.

I'll shutup now and stop spamming.

I have had the same problem since i rebuilt my engine.

Had it all off and throught it was the oil seal round the crank, so replaced that and still no joy, i think my next avenue to go down is the sealant down the sides of the end cap that holds the crank in

I've just now removed that end cap and set it back in with some new paste. Fingers crossed.
Am I correct in thinking that the crank actually spins around the seal and that the seal stays in situ? Might put a wee bit of paste around the outer edge of that also.

Yes the crank seal stays put & the crank turns inside it
