Hi fella's :D

Just wondering if a 172(ph1) gearbox would fit onto a williams and would it be hard work to get the speedo working?

I have a PH1 172 gearbox on 65,000,
just wondering should I keep it as a spare or sell

thanks

I can see the box fitting fine, just to get the speedo working is a different story:(

A ph1 box should be cable driven, or at least have the hole there.

The sensor in the box can be pulled out to reveal the cable drive, where the MK1 cable will fit nicely.

Found out from someone that done the conversion that it will fit perfect and to get the speedo work all i have to do is
"the speedo drive cable disconnects from you're standard box buy pushing the black shroud together which then releases from the white plastic retainer and you are able to pull it free. once you have it out you shall see how it connects it has a square end which inserts into the box and the black shroud has two clips on it one either side which clicks into place over the white part and holds the cable in position. you need both these parts."

and I just need to use a 172 gearbox mount and mash the two mounts together:)
So glad I get to keep the box....glad I didn't sell it a week ago

thanks for the help...I'm sure I'll be back
