Right then Ive been investigating a minor leak of engine oil around the sump area. Basically it's wet around the join with the gearbox.
So without even opening the bonnet I've dropped the subframe and the sump is off.

The question is,
if the leak was from the crank oil seal would the flywheel have oil on it?

pic for reference.

I had this. Take out the end cap/ metal piece at the end. Clean it all up. Fill With and instant gasket and refit. Make sure you fill the gullys in it. mine hasn't leaked since. The other route is gearbox off, flywheel off, and crank out. Try the other option first.

I guess you could do this with just the sump off?

Think I got away easy this time...Just used some extra dirko paste on the sump and the oil leak is gone.

Not too much i hope, as that's what clogs the oil pump up.
