Althought thats actually a Huey 'Hog' not an apache.

The clip doesn't actually show the M230 cannon installed on the Apache. The M230 is a single barreled 30mm cannon. The clip shows a (6 barrel) 7.62mm M61 minigun as used by US forces since the end of the Vietnam war.

This clip shows a 30mm 'chain' gun similar to the one fitted to the A10 Warthog. These guns can rip apart most light armour, although would not penetrate the frontal or side armour of the larger battle tanks like the T-80.

Whats even more worrying is that each of those lit up bullets is a tracer round and they occur evry 4th or 6th bullet (i cant remeber exactly), so there is either 4x or 6x the amount of bullets coming out of the gun than you can actually see in the video.

fookin mental, but this is seriously mental:

Tracers are set by the loaders. Under normal circumstances most aircraft wouldnt have tracers fitted. They are usually used on infantry weapons to help the gunner guide the fire to the target during night operations. The aiming systems in aircraft are computer controlled and so generally tracers are not needed. But yes, each tracer would be spaced along the feed belt at every so many bullets. An M61 would cut a man in two, literally.
