tempted to do this one as i love manual racks on fast cars, but need some more info on the conversion. Has anyone done it on here? And what rack/parts are required? Would a manual rack of a base 1.2 clio go straight on for example?
Cheers

I've done it. A 1.2 rack would fit, yes, as I think that is what I have on mine (was years ago now - there are pics in my project thread if you can identify it from that). You need to tweak the inner and/or outer track control arms to fit the wider track. You also need to fit a steering column to suit as the PS column won't fit the 1.2 rack.

Thanks guys will have a read of that, cant see me converting a pas rack to manual like that thow as ive driven cars with broken power steering and its terrible, i would imagine that would be similar.

I drove a 1.9d clio many moons ago wihout pas and i loved it :)
