what are you buying from them?

fabulicious
14-11-2011, 20:57
A standard zorst
Cant take the noise in the cabin or the knocking on the rear beam from the yoke I have on at the minute anymore tbh.

Yeah I ordered today and spoke with a nice lass who took the order over the phone. Hope it includes the elbow piece!
Price's are great and shipping is keen. Also part numbers for Williams and 16V differ on the rear box so hopefully should be sorted by the end of the week.
Was gonna order a Bosch lambda also which was 59 quid but will wait to see how the car is running back as standard first.

Will do.
For the mileage I do a year it's not gonna be a problem in terms of exhaust baffles blowing.
They said it could be bosal/walker or another 2 named brands. Should be interesting to see what arrives.

Ive had a couple of back boxes from them over last few years. Last one was Bozal but they have been 16 valve ones I think coz the hanger was different. ie a closed square loop rather than an open bar. Easy enough to cut open and bend but only leaves one welded end to take the weight. Last one I bent to an L shape hanger, then used the gash end as a support by bending it across till it touched the upright of the L and welded it together. Much stronger!

PS, Justlambda (google) £62 inc vat and delivery but maybe not Ireland. . . . . Worth a look?

Just got my full system and bits and bobs. Sorry to Fab for the thread hijack but does anyone know the bolt sizes needed to connect it all up??

Thanks

fabulicious
16-11-2011, 22:44
Dont worry about the thread hijack, you got yours delivered before me
:)
Not sure which bolts your referring to. The ones that attach to the cat are the only bolts you'll need. Other than that its just clamps and mountings?
Sorry if I mis-understood.

p4cks
16-11-2011, 22:50
Sorry yeah its the Cat bolts. Any idea?

And if it's any consolation the exhaust looks very good VFM

fabulicious
17-11-2011, 10:22
Ok that's comforting to know. Think mine is out for delivery today.

On the bolts they are a 13 nut and the bolt is about 2 inch's long. They may need to be heat resistant, not sure but I think you can get away with a standard nut and bolt.

Hmm :(

Pics?

I used to get banging on the rear beam with my Mongoose, but I've butchered it enough now and used a near solid double jubilee mounting where the bias valve is: no more knocking :p

I dunno anymore lads. Think I need to give up on this Williams business.
It has been so long since Ive been able to go out for a drive and really enjoy it. What with all this mechanical maintenance I started..the car was better off stored in my folks garage and i could only get it on holidays.

anyways here's the pics of the exhaust that they shipped. Just seems to me the angle on the tailpipe is wrong?

That looks the same as the one I bought. I will be trying to fit it tomorrow so will take as many photos as I can and let you know how I get on.

fabulicious
18-11-2011, 19:24
Cant see it fitting properly. When you line up the hooks with the mounting brackets on the car, the silencer will be sitting with the flat sides facing left and right if you get my meaning.

Here is an OE box.

I agree FB, but life is trying enough sometimes!

Anyways after getting over the initial shock of seeing this pencil like bore exhaust I've decided to RMA it. Not happy with it and it's gonna fit pear shaped anyhow. You should see the central bit. Looks like it belongs on a scooter! And the finish on the tailpipe is rough.

Just gonna use some exhaust wrap on my own around the beam area, and get an amp and speakers so I can crank up the tunes when I'm buzzing along :)

I did the same but the problem I have then is the tailpipe is melting the bumper.
The only way I can see is to have the tailpipe sticking way out so the bend is comfortably away from the beam. Only prob with this is I don't like it sticking out, would prefer it almost flush.

You can adjust it a bit more to the left easily by a quick bending of the bracket too.

I'd say you should be ok to get that replaced by online automotive. It is covered under warranty for 12 months and whilst it may be performing as it should, you will be able to argue that aesthetically it is unacceptable after 2 months of ownership. I've seen motorcycle
frames and parts being replaced for far far less corrosion than that.

Remember p4cks, that they are a drop shipper so they will need to get clearance from the manufacturer before they can replace yours so it may take time. I would probably also insist a replacement from another supplier.
If you need any more info at all let me know.

Email to OnlineAutomotive (OA):
Hello,

I purchased an exhaust from you (order num xxxx on 14.11.11) and unfortunately it isn't up to the standard I had expected. The rear silencer pipe has started to rust quite badly and looks terrible. I can provide photos if required.

Please advise.

Thanks,

No reply, so I rang OA and spoke to Kim in customer services who asked me to send a photo of the exhaust, which I did via email.

Hi Kim,

I'm assuming you received the photo? Has there been any update as haven't heard from you?

Thanks,

Reply from OA:
Hi Mr Pack,

Sorry for the delay in coming back to you, I have checked all the emails you have sent me and even had our IT guy have a look but there is no attachments for me to open to see a pic, obviously this part is still in warranty so I can definitely get it replaced for you but if you can get the picture to me I can hopefully have it dispatched straight away.

Kind Regards,

Kimberley

Email sent to OA:
I will send an email from my works email address with the link to the photo on. It is a website link.

My email address for work is xxxxx@xxxx.co.uk so please keep an eye out for it and let me know when you have received it.

Thanks,

Still no reply received, no confirmation that picture received, no phone call to say what they are doing.

I call them, speak to Kim again and she agrees to look in to and call me back.

Calls me back within 10 minutes to say they are dispatching another one to me.

So to answer the OP's original question, yes I have, but would I **** recommend them.

But have they just sent you another one of the same that will rust up like the last one?

But have they just sent you another one of the same that will rust up like the last one?

That was exactly what I was thinking. I was going to buy some clear high temp lacquer and spray the tip with that. That, or fit the Renault replica one I have in my garage.

Either way, both are being sprayed with the lacquer to avoid it happening again.
