Hi, were is the engine number located on a williams/16v, and how would i know wether its was a genuine williams engine?

on the back of the block (i think, maybe the front) you'll see F7P, or F7R in raised lettering

F7R is williams

It will be on the front of the block on the r/h/s near the oil filter, pot riveted onto the block - if its a clio 1.8 16v it will start F7P722 and if its a williams it will start F7R 700

its def on the front lol


only way to tell a williams engine from the rear is to look ofr the strengthening veins on the back of the block....the meg doesnt have them
