That's not good :? I've only ever had good dealings with them in the past & they've always responded to any email I've sent pretty quick as well

Just go to your local motor factors m8. I got a pair off the shelf at my local supplyer - fitted the same night, job done!!

but are these like the clutch cable? always been told that OEM clutch cable is best. is that the case for the handbrake cables? also must admit the current cables have only been on about 2 years?? and not sure where they were sourced from when the car was serviced at the garage?

OEM stuff is best I suppose if your a 100% purist. I bought a clutch cable from our factors again off the shelf a few months back and that was fine too. Had no probs fitting etc etc. For me I use the car daily and at the end of the day its a cable so as long as it does its job I happy. :D

I've never had a problem with them, I normally just give paul the part numbers of what I want, pay over the phone and they arrive next day.
Suppose the problem comes when Renault decide to cease production of items.

Ordering parts for older cars is a nightmare. Manufacturers on have to produce parts for 10years after the model is removed from there range - so usually means some parts are difficult to source once it gets into that range.

That's the case with fiat, I dread the calls I get for uno's, 126's and old ducato's. Even cinq's are turning the same way.

Tell me about it! I struggle with my Uno Turbo!

Paul is away on holiday currently. I am sure he will respond when he is back. He is the only one with access to PM's on forums apparently.

I've never had a problem with them - they have been extremely helpfull!

They can not help parts being delayed - it would be the same at any dealership.

yeah but there not keeping me in the loop! if i didnt mail them i would not have known at all?? and it doesnt state anywhere on there site that some items might be delayed. hope i get some recompense in some way, as there gonna lose my custom, but then again like all big places they dont give a toss.

annoying I bet ,but my personal experience has been very good, I am thankful that parts are still available, dont worry they will get the bits to you as soon as they get them.

Try asking if they have a customer relations telephone number. Peugeot do, and if parts are taking ages to get hold of, a call from an unhappy customer seems to make the part appear magically after a couple of days, 99% of the time

45 days and still counting...................... :(

For a pair of handbrake cables?! My local garage got mine delivered and fitted the same day!

Cancel the order and go elsewhere! Like EuroCarParts who even have a 25% off sale if you use 'WINTER25" (I've just ordered all of my parts to service the Willy)

FATBOY

as far as i was always led to believe, its best to use OEM handbrake cables, just like its best to use OEM clutch cables. due to the patent parts snapping so soon.... im hoping RPD will offer me something now as a gesture of goodwill for the long wait....
