Alright guys! Fresh owner of a Williams here, so I thought I’d introduce myself to you all :)

My old man owned and sold these from new, and I’ve always dreamt of owning my own, so after months of searching for one I bit the bullet a couple of weeks ago and bought this chappy...

A one owner Williams 2 (wasn’t fussed about either of the 3) with full history, and just a few niggles which need to be fixed. Dead chuffed, and it goes real well.

Here’s a few pics anyway...

It's completely bog standard, apart from the alarm.
Well, the niggles.. I'm going to be quite anal with this williams, as it's something I plan on keeping for a long time as a weekend toy. My little list ranges from the clutch which is abnormally very heavy (any ideas guys? - I'll probably get it done between now and Xmas) to the centre caps have flakey paint and the front bumper isn't straight, with little jobs in-between. But I guess it's just one of those cars you never stop working on, right? :)

I'm from northampton by the way!

Cheers,
Charlie.

=; Northampton?!?! That's south of Watford Gap so you're a bloody southerner [-X lol!

Yeah they are a car that you'll be constantly working on but it's all part of the fun & more than worth all the effort when you get to drive it properly :driving:

The heavy clutch could be an indication that it's coming towards the end of it's life but to most other people the clutch on these feel abnormally heavy to them unlike to some nutters like us that have been driving them for years it feels perfectly normal

Hello and welcome mate! Your Willy is stunning!

heavy clutch: as 16v_paddy wrote + it may be caused by the worn (or not properly greased) clutch fork pivot bush.

Haha, I get called a bloody northerner from mates down south too, I can't win!

Cheers for your inputs though :) I'll have a gander when I get a chance.

Charlie.

Clutches are heavy anyway have you compared it to another,
might be worth throwing a new clutch cable on and make sure it's routed correctly if it's been fitted with a copy cable they don't fit very well and make the pedal stiffer

Cheers adi, I'll check that! It has had a new cable prior to my ownership. Yeah I've tried others and this one's making my left leg massive...

cables prob not fitted right get a reno cable and try that it should run round above the subframe there's several clips for it to go in it's just a case of the smoothest route
car looks like a minter if you don't mind me askin how much was it

looks a good solid example mate. as adi says, best off trying the cable first. noe oe items can cause probs, especially when not routed correctly. always good to see a good clean original one.
