(I've written the ad ready for ebay, but giving it a few days on the forums first so excuse the ebay related text)

Up for auction is my Mk1 Clio track car shell. It was originally a Valver (1.8 16v - same shell as a Williams) and has had various engines fitted over the past 3 years that I have owned it. It is currently SORN, I have the logbook in my name and the number plates are included too as I did use it on the road at one point.

The shell was originally 449 'Sports Blue' and bought completely standard by myself in October 2008. I repainted the whole car in 432 'Monaco Blue' after I'd finished the roll cage modifications. I wasn't happy with the external colour as it didn't stand out quite like I'd hoped, so I later repainted the outside in D43 Mondial Blue, as found on the later Clio 172 Cup. As can be seen in the photos, the rear bumper is still in white/grey primer. This is also the case for the front bumper, whilst the bonnet is the original 449. The paintwork is far from a showroom finish, but very presentable for a track/race car.

If you wanted to return this car to the road it would simply need MOT and Tax once built back up and it would be perfectly fine - as it once was on the road for me.

It has got a fully welded in OMP AB/105/144A roll cage which is made to according to FIA rules. I have the original certificates to accompany the cage showing this. It has also been extensively modified since fitting to include full door bar X's, harness bars, main hoop lower brace, bulkhead bar, bar between rearmost points etc. All the additional tube is proper roll cage specific CDS.

The standard seat rails have been removed and replaced with welded in bars (CDS tubing again) including tabs for mounting seat side mounts onto. The standard steering column mount has also been removed and the column has been mounted from the cage in a fixed position, with the key barrel on the N/S to aid getting in and out without catching it.

The shell has been stripped bare with only a few parts remaining. Rear beam, discs and calipers/pads, along with handbrake mechanism and cables are included. The copper brake lines have been left on and I will be including a standard Valver/Williams servo and master cylinder in the sale. No front running gear apart from the subframe. No windows apart from windscreen. It has a sunroof fitted - the glass has been replaced with a polycarbonate sheet. The bonnet, doors and bootlid have all been 'lightened' by removing the inner skins. I have a selection of spare panels (not pictured) that the winning bidder can help themselves to if required (Pair of doors, wings, bonnet, bumper etc, various colours). The fuel tank, fuel pump and rear loom are still fitted. The throttle and clutch cables, and brake vacuum pipe will remain as per the pictures. The fuel filler neck is that off a poverty spec Mk1 Clio, in order to remove the unnecessary second fuel tank found in the 16v's. A pair of standard rear shocks will be included which aren't shown. Aftermarket steering wheel boss shown not incuded.

There is no rust whatsoever on the arches unlike most examples, so it is a very solid shell. Being totally honest there is a small bit of rust coming through on the passenger outer sill where it meets the rear wheel arch. This is very localised and could no doubt be sorted easily.

The rear wheels in the pictures are not included in the sale. They form part of a set of 4 silver Williams wheels, which I have available separately for £180.

Payment via Cash on Collection only, and it would have to be taken away on a trailer/flatbed - or I can possibly deliver at extra cost.

If you have any questions with regards to what is included/not included, or about the shell in general, or if you want to come and see it before the auction ends (based in Lincoln, LN6) please do not hesitate to contact me.

Happy Bidding!

Price wise, I'm very much open to sensible offers. Not interested in swap/Px's, just want the cash to move onto something else with.

Any additional bars to a certified cage voids the certificate.....

I worded it specifically to show that the original cage was FIA spec, then I added the bars afterwards. No further mention of it meeting/not meeting any regs.
