I've been getting this for months now, I assumed it was something else which was clearly making contact a bit, but it wasn't that.

Finally thought I would take another look at the nearside wishbone:

Despite appearing very stiff still, when I applied some pressure from a screwdriver you could see the play in the bush, it allowed the top lip of the wishbone to smack the inner top edge of the subframe. made an almighty racket for such a small contact patch. Was pissing me off for months, I even fitted uprated engine mounts as I suspected engine movement at first.

Also changed the filter and oil today for some 10w 40 Millers fully synth competition stuff. Ran the car for a while and it's MUCH quieter. Time will tell though.

So, yet more cash needed for the moneypit *sigh*. I was going to do the wishbones this year anyway.

Anyone else seen this kind of wear though? Could be an answer for someone else in the future. Was a hard one to spot.

As said on faceache, in the past I've had the wishbone bush fail but that made the wheel move under braking & the handling was all over the shop

When I removed the wishbone the bushes simply fell out
