JB3 048 Gearbox (Valver/1.8 16v)

Its got the factory bolt in differential as its the newer version (purchased 2008, I have the original receipt for over 1k), its only done around 40,000 miles. There are no knocks, bangs, noises - drives perfectly fine.

is it the same as a Williams 3?

Pretty much. Ratios differ between JC5 and JB3 ever so slightly but its no really noticable. Check Mattehs gearbox calculator spreadsheet if you want to see the exact speed differences, its a few mph..
