I'd like to see around 170psi across all cylinders
Did the test today and is was pleasantly surprised!
Reading from cambelt:
1: 185psi
2: 180
3: 185
4: 185
Not bad for a 16v engine with 325k km's on it :D
Also had the borescope in to check if there isn't much wear in the cyl. Wall but it's in perfect shape too!
Almost thinking it's been rebuild in it's life but i'm pretty sure it isn't...
It's quite possible it hasn't been rebuild yet, especially if engine was more or less on highway in it's life time.
I personally know the last owner who owned it for 5 years. He used the car as daily and drove it from Hoorn to Amsterdam every day (40km). Never pushed it further then 2500tpm when the oil was not at 90 degrees celsius.
I knew i did good to buy the car from him! But this surprised me!
The engine does consume some oil but maybe that can be blaimed on the valveseals...
think these engines consumed oil even when new..
think its listed in the handbook somewhere iirc..
But not 1L on 1000 km's :p
Does depend on usage though, and i have to confess i don't spare the engine! (when warmed up ofcourse)
