Assuming the speedo cable fits and the mounting is ok, is there any reason not to use a JC5 box from like a Scenic 8v?

I am not too keen on having an even shorter 1st gear ratio, or 5th either as thats my cruise gear really, but I want to keep the ratios for 2nd 3rd and 4th preferably (or be even shorter :D )

I need a good gearbox that's all, whilst my other one gets repaired and possibly further modified.

Any other option other than JC5 (JB3 wont last long with my car).

I am looking at boxes for the Kangoo and Laguna I think, JC5 028 029 037 & 038.

Slightly shorter geared overall, same final drive. Will they fit?

Should do,

Check the speedo drive, the top gearbox mounting, and the starter motor positioning.

Ask Yanoo! He has a PhD in JC5 ratios!

Yes, I am using his Renault gearbox software at home and work. Very useful.

I am having trouble sourcing gearboxes of a certain type, the above are not the only options though.

Dog box is just too mad and tbh, expensive, for now.

With the gearbox mounting, on some JC5's it has the bigger spaced out bolt holes. Can I just use a 172 battery tray or is there more to it?

Hmm. I can get it done cheaper than that I think though. Top speed 115mph I think. Bit too low!

Same spec as my box, know the car this came from.

Yes, bit extreme for road car really.
