hi people, i brought a 16v a couple of weeks ago, the bloke told me that it had a willy engine, gearbox and wheels. the wheels i will be selling as a set of 4 if 1 can be repaired or else i will sell them seperate. after taking some bits off to get at engine i seen a plaque saying its a f7p, i take it its not a willy engine so thinkin it wont be a jc5 gearbox, been robbed :(

so like to know which bits will fit my willy before i scrap the car in,
thanks

Just engine-wise?

Did you just buy it for spares or does it drive, has it got low down grunt, did he tell you who did the conversion? If it has stock willy ecu rev limit will be 6.5k. Also 80 in 5th on 185s will be 3900rpm and just over 4k on 195s. Or you may be able to take the plugs out and measure the stroke with a blunt rod. Some engines were disguised. Tut tut lol.

In a nutshell, everything on the cars are interchangeable but as has been said above try & find out what engine it really is from the above tips

I have bought 3 willy Clios in the past 2 years and I checked the engine plate on them before I bought.it's the only way to make sure it's a f7r.I wouldnt buy one if the seller didn't let me check it.

no i brought for spares, its a none runner had a bit of a twatin on near side. i mainly wanted it for the spare engine and gearbox but it was easier to buy the whole car :? yes ive read up on things to look out for like the dipstick but buy the look of it its been snapped. hopefully in the next 2 weeks ill be taking the engine out. also is the power steering pump and rack the same on both cars or were the willy ones longer due to the wide track

Yes pump and rack the same but the Williams rack is fitted longer steering arms.
