I’ve read a couple of posts saying it is possible to change the water pump without taking the engine out. I have taken everything off and the pump is undone and lose but I cannot get it past the chassis rail, I have loosened the engine mounts but cant really get any movement on the engine, any advice or tips welcome :?

You need to get the pulley off 1st, then it's a case jacking the engine up & letting it down & jiggling the pump & pulley about to get the pulley off completely then you'll be able to squeeze the pump past the chassis leg

Proper cunt of a job & I was pissed off at having to do it on mine the other day

Also undo the exhaust from the down pipe & undo the dogbone mount to give you some more movement with the engine

Thank you for that, managed to get it done, not sure if it would have been easier to lift out the engine though.

It seems like it would be easier to rip the engine out but it's a lot more work to do I reckon.

I had to do my water pump after I'd dropped the engine back into the car & plumbed everything back together, I was not a happy bunny
