Sorry for another insurance question, but what classic insurance are you all with? All the usual ones I've tried are saying the car has to be 21+ years old?

Have you tried Peter Best? I'm not with them yet but they came recommended on here last time it was discussed and I will definitely get a quote from them when renewal comes up. I'll have to check my docs to find out who I am currently with and will post up for you when I know.

Snowman, I thought this too as it says that on the website, but if you ring them up they will insure a Williams as a classic car. Loads of places won't now though, believe me, I was trying for most of the day! lol

Tommo, may i ask how old you are to recieve a quote like that from Peter Best? ..im also thinking of going down the classic insurance route and will do if its cheaper.

I rang them up and they said a Williams 1, wasn't covered as a classic car.

I'm with Lancaster. Happy to consider a Williams 1 on a classic policy.

Ah okay, thanks mate!

Think they'll just laugh in the face of a 21yr old.

Classic policies usually require that it be a 2nd car, limited mileage and kept in a garage.

unfortunately, the girls underwriters wont accept the williams as a classic. not sure what the reasons are, and iirc they said latest they would go to for classic would be 1986.

this is her company tho, if you fancy a quote and get hold of the owner, jennifer, tell her i sent you, we go back a long way, it may get you a decent deal.
