whats the best thing to use to bring it back to black from grey? and also what colour is the RENAULT CLIO strip on the bottom edge of the tailgate meant to be???

A black dye. Expensive but it works. If i had the 1 here id take pics of mine. You wont have to do it again for a very long time.

And the rear bit is grey also

Heat gun is suppose to work well.

Dans shocking pics but u can see the difference. The gel is called wurth

My first one I cleaned and primered and sprayed, which came out great but it is not chipped and flaking a little.

On Leighannes Willy 1 I used Wurthers black plastic dye. You need to test it first to get the right 'spread', but once you do, sorted. Clean the surface first, ut not as much as you would with the painting technique.

Just had another look, that price is the grey, the Black dye is £2 cheaper, bargain !

This is dead cheap and easy to get them back to black, all you have to do is understand why they go grey, reverse the process and viola, they look like new.

It's because the top layer of the plastic is subject to oxidisation and UV damage.
