What does the button on the end of my wiper stalk do? Or what should/could it do?

Yeh, it is a proper button! On my old 1.8 16v it wasn't, you couldn't press it in. But this is definately usable - I thought it might be a Williams thing!

No use on the clio apart from immobiliser de-activation, on the 19 it is used for the trip computer.

If you lose your key or it malfunctions you have to enter a code using the button to turn the immobiliser off.
Only on standard alarm/immob and I'm sure it was only on 16v's.
