Hey all, Lookin some ideas/input on HID Kits for the williams

Love the look of the HID, but unsure if it will take the retro look away from the willliams??

Do the willy lights/lenses put up with the higher temps from HID??

Anyone have these fitted? can you recommend a kit?? Prices??
Also if i want Bright Ice White (not blueish) what Kind do i need to buy??

Thanks
Thomas

ive got some fitted to mine. and i think they complement it well. doesnt detract from the look of the car. mine are 80K brightness, and white. remember they are not meant to be road legal?? but luckily my car always passes the MOT with them.

They are the same as mine. Took a bit of time to get them set up, but they look great.

If you want white, you want them to be around 5000 K mark (regular bulbs are around 3-4K). Maybe up to 6K, and then they get blue.

Without lenses you can get scattered light and you blind oncoming traffic.

If you fit some lights with lenses, you take away retro look.

They will be illegal anyway, so you might have some problems when MOT comes.

iirc the bulbs are longer than standard h4 s as well ,otherwise i would be
quite tempted to bang some yellow h4 hats over them !!! 8) 8)

Im only after white ones, MOT over here is a nightmare infact its a lottery, depends who you get and what side of bed they got out off lol

There is no advisory over here, its just a pass or a fail FULL STOP

Cars just passed mot there so i wont have to worry for a year and i dont mind changing em back every year for mot..

Anyone got pulled by police for em????? Im a police magnet in my car lol, dont want that hassle

Will angel eyes eradicate the scatter?

I had some 8k ones in my standard lens.

Ill be honest and say they looked shocking for the scatter, truly shocking. Simply horrendous for oncoming traffic to look at. I dont care what anyone says about HID's, they just arent meant to be in a clio, you can kid yourself all you want. Yes they look good from the cockpit, but the idea of Xenons/HID's is to give your car a 'good' look coming up behind vehicles rather than lighting the road up IMO.

I recently had an Omega with Xenons, and you could draw a perfect line against the wall horizontally.

With the clio, it would end up looking like a galaxy full of stars drawn on paper. Horrendous.

Mine pass MOT and never been pulled for them and I drive the Williams a lot! They are the same slightly blue tint as Leighanne's, but its like a very white blue if you see what I mean?

Yeah im not saying theyre illegal etc but serioulsy Wobba, you cant say they look good from front view outside? Maybe the lower K has different look.

I just remember my 8k's being terrible.

any idea what k yours are wobba or leigh-anne? maby a slight blue would be ok, maby they would interest me after all

Also Its not alot of money so i will try em and if i cant get the beam alignment right i will just take em back off, having said that if they are passing mot ok then they cant be that bad, I definately dont wanna be blinding oncoming traffic as down my way its mainly country roads..

But as I said before im willing to try em..

I know a guy that has HID fitted in his clio (with angel eyes) and it's much better then with original lights, but I just don't like the looks of those lights (but that's my personal opinion).

I sell these kits.

http://www.evobits.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=66&product_id=148

Sold loads of these on cliosport.
Are the digital ballasts too. Ive had a set in my car for 18 months now.
I don't really recommend them for the Mk1 clio as they aren't legal, but if you adjust your headlights down its not normally a problem, they should be used with projector beam headlights really. Have some mk1 lights with projector beams actually but they are a bit max power lol.
