Having searched the forum the general recommendation appears to be to use the standard Renault Type D.

Has any one had any experience of any other coolants on the F7 engine as I have not known a coolant system to corrode as badly as the Renault system using the type D.

Having flushed the system and bought a new radiator I would like to use something that doesn't corrode after 12 months, or is it just a feature of these engines and I will just need to change whatever I use on a regular basis?

Any advice welcome.

Coolant normally needs changing every 2 years.

Renault coolant is now 10 quid (ish) a 5 litre tub, so there is really no sense in using anything else.

If you get a brand new radiator, heater matrix and completely flush the engine of old coolant and rust then re-fill with the Renault coolant with a new expansion tank, then I imagine it'll stay green much longer!
