Went to see 'Senna' last night. Well worth a watch for any petrolhead. Learnt a few things about the man and the politics he had to battle that I hadn't really been aware of before. I think it was possibly a slightly one-sided portrayal of his character but an entertaining watch nevertheless.

Seen it. It was good. It missed some stuff I wanted to see though.

Was this a proper UK version with official subtitles or just an enthusiast subtitled japanese version? AFAIK UK version is supposed to come out on 3rd June?

Had it ages ago. Mostly in English, though subtitles too.

Yes, it was the proper UK version in a cinema. There were subtitles through a lot of it due to the interviewees talking in Brazilian, French (Prost), etc. but mostly in English. It's not due out until 3rd June, you are correct, but this was the official preview - Asif Kapadia (the director) was there, John Watson and a few others.

Ha. Kapadia said last night that they trialled it in the mid-West last year, just to see how the film worked with a population that were not really F1 fans. He said they were visibly shocked when the film got to the part where they realised what ultimately happened to him!
