F7P Engine in my 19 16v , the belt has been changed a couple years ago .
Engine ran perfect since the belt was fitted .
Yayy or what ?

i would change that belt it looks very slack, for the sake of a few bob i wouldnt chance it personally :)

the belt is new mate ,there is not much to risk really if she is
slack i will tighten it through the tensioner .

Not changing the belt .lol

yes and that's on the longest part of the belt

from memory there is a way to do this by the book.

Pretty sure I used a small set of scales (like you get for weighing your suitcases with) and stuck a ruler to the side of the head.

Can't remeber the exact numbers, but it is something like you need 150N to deflect the belt 6mm. Don't have my workshop manual anymore, but sure somebody else can chip in.

Or do the easy one and twist it as above.

You should only just be able to get any movement if you press down on the belt in the middle of the cam sprockets, should be very tight there so personally I'd take it off and retension it to be safe.
