Hi guys,

As I can't get a new drive shaft for decent money, I am considering breaking the willy This depends on the amount of interest I get. Alternatively, if someone wants the car for 800 poundsn and can get it moved, that too would be an option!

Thanks

That's an absolute bargain! Why break for such an easy fix though?

You can use a valver driveshaft with a washer if you're struggling to find a replacement.

How big a wahser?

I get confused!...if it is a shorter shaft, how will it get through the hub sufficiently to get the hub nut on and tighten it?

They're only very slightly shorter, you just need a washer to get them to fit properly so the CV joints aren't 'stretched'.

There was a group buy for some custom made washers on C16V - http://www.clio16valver.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=42480

You need something around 10mm thick to put between the driveshaft and the hub and it'll fit fine.

thanks mate,

that is really helpful.

i may be getting a willy drive shaft tommorrow, but cant be certain till i see it. if not, i will hop onto c16v and see if i can get the 10mm spacer.
