Hi

I have a standard williams Clio 2, thing is I have a very strange water temperature gauge reading. when driving the temperature floats about (about 3 quarters up the scale) as if there was an air lock in the system.

I have fitted a new thermostat and bled the living Sh@t out the system on a number of occations but its still the same but its still the same.

I have no headgasket issues, the car runs fine and uses no water. Its just this silly water temperature reading.

Any ideas? is this just a trate of the 2.0 williams?

Also how do I remove the Boot lip "carbon" trim please?

Many thanks

Adam

It will float up and down as the radiator fan kicks in when stationary

Indeed it will, but this is during normal driving. Ta

How much does it fluctuate?

From quarter on gauge to three quarters. Really strange!

That is really odd. Have you changed the sensor in the thermostat housing? Might be faulty.

Yer that's the next step I think, price depending I might just put up with it.

Check the small pipe coming off the top of the stat housing to header tank isn't blocked.
